VOICE BODY
SERIES 1 - September 17 - December 10 (12 classes in total)
Thursdays 7:30 - 9:00 PM
Voice Body is an invitation to build a practice around somatic movement and voice through sensory awareness, perceptual practices, and movement and vocal expression rooted in the uniqueness of each body and its constellations of memory, desire, and creative transmission.
We gradually cultivate attention towards inhabiting the fullness of our body and voice, opening pathways between our inner and outer worlds. As voice merges with the body, it reveals its potential for exploration and play, allowing inner landscapes to unfold into sonic environments and expressions, while deepening our connection to others, our surrounding environment, and beyond.
Come experience the voice as a powerful part of your body, and discover its remarkable capacity for movement, resonance, and transformation. Give yourself the space and time to listen deeply to the echoes, impulses, and all the possibilities of your own being.
A typical workshop includes:
+ Warm up techniques for body and voice
+ Sensorial exercises for tuning and deep listening
+ Opening of the vocal potential through movement and touch
+ Creative explorations and improvisations
+ Dynamic relations through individual and small-group practice
+ Instant composition and improvisation scores
+ Writing prompts and reflections
Please come wearing comfortable clothes with a bottle of water, pen and a pad, and anything you need for your comfort.
This workshop is open to all people of all backgrounds. No prior experience is necessary.
