Facilitating creative spaces for somatic practices

& relational explorations

"And the day came when the risk it took to remain tight inside the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom" -Anaïs Nin

1. SOMATIC MOVEMENT & VOICE

I offer creative rich experiences to dive into the relational body and its expression for artistic and therapeutic support:

Group workshops theme-oriented programs and seminars that deepen relationship to the body and voice through somatic movement, vocal explorations, and perceptive practices.

One-to-One sessions mindful explorations of body and voice for creative self-study and therapeutic support. Tailored to each individual’s needs, desires, and guiding questions.

Voice coaching support artists in the unfolding process of performance making. Offering sensorial practices and creative input to fine-tune somatic dramaturgy and choreography.

2. COMMUNITY-BASED PROJECTS

I draw on an interdisciplinary approach combining creative thematic research, somatic explorations, artistic envisions, performance making, and collective creation processes to come together and co-create beautiful and deeply transformative experiences that are community-building oriented.

Creative tools include listening practices, hands-on work, vocal exercises, movement improvisation, writing, storytelling, engaged conversations, puppet-making, score building, and other inter-weavings to support collective knowledge gathering and artistic exchange.

These projects are usually held within an artistic production, residency program, or a set-frame over a duration of time.

“Farah’s workshop was one of the most freeing experiences I have had in Jordan. As performers we talk about our voice and body being our instrument. Farah truly enabled us to explore and play with our instrument. She gently and tactfully encouraged us to breathe, vocalise, and move. And as she layered the work, she encouraged us to bring more of ourselves to the space and to our fellow participants. Eventually, the personalisation hit its peak as we shared our texts using some of the tools Farah taught us - I watched and felt complete strangers being their most powerful and vulnerable best.”

3. PSYCHOSOCIAL SUPPORT

I design and facilitate mindful psychosocial support programs that provide a safe, creative space for different groups of people to claim access to restorative and empowering practices that promote overall wellbeing.

Rooted in somatic practice and expressive arts, these programs aim to foster connection, inspire agency, and weave solidarity within communities. They offer structure, tools, and resources to support individuals in regaining a sense of integrity within a group context.

The work has supported various groups of women affected by war, gender-based violence, inhabitants of high conflict zone areas, folks of queer communities, as well as migrant workers, and refugee children in Lebanon.

“Farah Azrak is skilled in holding a group in a way that few can in my experience. Beyond being an impressive artist, her wealth of knowledge and life experiences lend themselves in her facilitation, which is itself an inspiration and an art form. Her ability to attune to the groups needs, fears, wants, allows her to not only bring forth our grief stories, but also in such a way that cultivates a sense of safety and belonging that many of us seldom experience through grief.” - Clare, Oslo

4. NATURE CONNECTION

Deeply rooted in relational practices, I offer journeys to weave connection with place and environment through meditation, durational practices, listening, writing and voicing.

By cultivating sensory connection with the natural world, we open space for simple presence to emerge. We take time to attune to subtle movements that infuse life force and guide inspiration, as well as enter a reflective resonant field of relationship.

These journeys are resourcing and regenerative to the whole body and mind, they weave a deep sense of ease and restore natural rhythms into the body that can shift, change, and transform along with the cycles of life and death.
